Review of Surviving the Business of Healthcare
In a time where there are various outbreaks of different diseases, when most people know so little about a sustainable health plan, when there are various misconceptions regarding some diseases, when we have medical practitioners who are more money-driven than passion-driven, and when there is so much pressure on the health care system, it is a huge relief to come across a book of this kind. Surviving the Business of Healthcare by Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C is a book that helps you get rid of any confusion regarding healthcare and helps you make better healthcare decisions.
Surviving the Business of Healthcare by Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C is a very informative and educational nonfiction book. This book is a perfect combination of the author's personal story as a medical professional and as a cancer patient. The author began by discussing her intention for writing this book and the passion she had for her profession as a health care provider. The author courageously discussed her struggles with cancer. This book will further enlighten readers on how to choose their primary care provider, know your rights as a patient, protect your loved ones, especially the elderly, and have an emergency and insurance plan. This is just a tip of this book's content. Don't miss out on this amazing book.
It was wonderful to read about how the author combined her personal story as a health care provider and as a patient. The entire story was so connected and flowed properly. While reading, I could sense the honesty of the author as she advocated for a better healthcare system for everyone. There were so many lessons I learned from this book, especially in the section that discussed having an emergency plan and health insurance. By sharing personal experiences with her patients, the author made this book appealing and relatable to her readers. This book was very concise, and the writing style employed was intriguing. This book was well edited and organized. I could not spot any errors in it.
I had an issue with the pictures that were all placed at the end of this book. Some were not properly titled, and I would have preferred if the picture appeared within the story. While reading, I felt this story was mostly about the US healthcare system. I think this would diminish the interest of readers from other parts of the world, especially from developing and underdeveloped countries.
However, this book was an amazing read, and the issues above had almost no effect on the pleasure I felt reading it. I will rate this book five out of five stars. I recommend this book to all lovers of nonfiction and to all those who wish to make better healthcare decisions.
