Review of Surviving the Business of Healthcare
According to the author, "knowledge is power." To the best of their talents and capacities, those with the necessary experience have given the information necessary for anyone with a keen desire to gain the specific understanding required for success. If you are among those who are interested in knowing more about healthcare, especially the business aspect of it, then read this book, Surviving the "Business" of Healthcare: Knowledge is Power! by Barbara Galutia Regis, M.S., PA-C.
Barbara is a successful music teacher who transitioned into medicine in her early thirties. As a patient diagnosed with amelanotic nodular melanoma (a rare form of melanoma), a primary care provider (PCP), and also a physician assistant (PA), she uses her experience in healthcare to teach people about the business side of medicine as well as the various aspects of medicine. This book also contains information on how to choose a better physician or primary care provider for yourself as well as information on health insurance. To get this information for yourself, read this book.
This book contains vital information on the family life of the author, and from it, I learned a lot, which I don't think I can forget in a hurry. I was able to learn about family love, bonding, and togetherness, which is something I feel built the author into becoming who she is.
Again, I sincerely enjoyed every aspect of this book because the information it contained, especially on the physician-patient relationship, is something I have been longing to know for a while. Above all, I was able to gain fortitude and bravery from the author's personal story because, despite receiving a rare form of skin cancer diagnosis, she continued to write her book and give her patients the finest care possible.
There are many excellent aspects to this book, but the one that stands out the most is the educational knowledge it contains. Another noteworthy aspect of this book is how simply and easily it can be read and understood. The writing style is another positive aspect, as is how well the author structured and organized the book, which makes reading it interesting.
There is absolutely nothing negative I could identify in this book, so I do not dislike it in any way. Throughout my reading of this book, I was unable to find any typos or grammatical problems, indicating how exceptionally well-edited it is. Because of this and other positive aspects of this book, I give it a rating of five out of five stars and would recommend it to those in the medical field, those who are interested in knowing about the business aspect of the medical world, as well as those who would love to enter the medical field someday.
