As one begins to read "A Dream for Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, it is natural to wonder, "How is it possible for one person to have experienced so much?" While it is common to read about people who have overcome difficulties, there are few who have achieved remarkable things in multiple fields across various countries. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's life is an exceptional one, having accomplished significant feats in several domains. Not only was he an essential activist in the struggle for the decolonization of Algeria and the first scientist to hypothesize the "Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme," but he also served as a Special Advisor to President Houphouët-Boigny. In addition to these accomplishments, he played a crucial role in starting a dialogue between Palestine and Israel. Dr. Berrah has been close to historical figures such as Mao Zedong, Robert McNamara, Yasser Arafat, Golda Meir, John Paul II, and John Kennedy. In his remarkable life, he traveled around the world forty times and married three times.

The biography "A Dream for Peace" was written to chronicle the life of this diplomat. The book provides an insight into the efforts of a religious man who has always strived for peace and tolerance. The book is especially intriguing as it reveals events that happen behind the scenes. For example, when Fidel Castro was scheduled to give a speech that could potentially create a dangerous situation, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, who had received the speech transcript hours earlier, suggested muting the microphone after a trigger. The official version was that there were technical difficulties, but in fact, it was a clever maneuver by a gifted diplomat.

Even after much deliberation, there is little to criticize about this book. The quality of some photos is not that great, but this is understandable since the pictures are several decades old. It is safe to say that "A Dream for Peace" is professionally edited, and the few grammatical errors in the book do not affect the overall quality.

"A Dream for Peace" is an addictive book that reveals many behind-the-scenes secrets. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's life is fascinating, and learning more about his accomplishments is an enriching experience. The book is highly recommended for anyone interested in learning about the history of Africa after the period of decolonization. Furthermore, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is an elegant and classy diplomat, so there is no need to expect any inappropriate or offensive content in the book. "A Dream for Peace" truly deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
