A Dream for Peace: An Ambassador's Memoir by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a captivating portrayal of an incredibly gifted individual who lived in a time of great change in Africa. The author, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, is a staunch advocate for peace, an accomplished diplomat, a visionary politician, a passionate activist, a devout spiritualist, and a former presidential advisor to the leader of Côte d'Ivoire. This memoir is an exciting story about a man's search for peace, the amazing things that happened to him along the way, and the challenges, surprises, and problems that shaped his journey. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in how Algeria gained her freedom from colonial rule.

This is the story of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's journey to France, where he was awarded a scholarship to study medicine. At the time, a select group of African students abroad had formed alliances to push for the end of French colonial rule. The author's fervor for freedom grew even stronger as he joined these unions, whose mission was to unite African students and create a unified plan to resist colonial oppression and discrimination against their home countries. Would they succeed in their struggle for liberation?

Perusing the book yielded a number of delightful discoveries. The author's personal experiences and encounters with notable figures form the backbone of this captivating narrative. The accompanying images provide further insight into the story, with some pages featuring multiple photos that enrich the reader's understanding. Additionally, the author's insightful characterizations are brimming with knowledge and affection, as they are predominantly centered on the positive aspects of their actions. Particularly intriguing was the author's relationship with his Catholic wife and their successful interreligious marriage.

The informative tome presents a unique perspective on the political landscape of post-colonial Africa, and I was particularly impressed by the author's extensive involvement in diplomatic endeavors not only in his home country but globally as well. This book is a moving tale that serves as a source of inspiration for achieving peace and harmony in all aspects of life.

Despite facing harassment and the threat of imprisonment from the French colonial government, Dr. Berrah displayed remarkable resilience and determination in his fight for justice. He remained steadfast in the face of adversity, showcasing his unwavering spirit. I was inspired by his quest to bring unity to his people, regardless of their religious beliefs. He successfully brought diverse religious groups together, even going so far as to encourage the construction of a mosque and a church on the same grounds and leading their joint inauguration. Dr. Berrah's idealism and effortless charisma are truly admirable. What particularly stood out to me in this book was the powerful message about the impact of great leadership.

Throughout the book, I found nothing to dislike and would highly suggest this book to aficionados of history. It delves deeply into significant political dynamics and provides valuable insight. Science students and fans of memoirs will also find this read both enlightening and enjoyable. Additionally, the book have undergone professional editing, as I noticed only a few minor grammatical errors that did not change the overall flow and impact of the writing. Hence, I am rating the book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is truly remarkable! I was so impressed with how Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was able to achieve so much in his life. His unwavering dedication to his goal of advocating for his country's freedom was essential to Algeria's independence. I was also so impressed with how he was able to serve with distinction in his pursuit of Afro-Arab harmony. The detailed approach in which the author describes things made me feel as though I was right there with him. I also really appreciated the inclusion of photos of people mentioned in the book. It gave me the visuals I need when I think of them. Finally, I liked that the author didn't hold back on any part of his life. The book includes his triumphs, accomplishments, negative encounters, mistakes, and even his love life. This book is a must-read for anyone who is interested in political books, African history, or activism. I highly recommend this book and am giving it 4 out of 4 stars!"

The author is really a man of peace. It is not easy to unite a nation or fight against racism. This book would be helpful to many Africans. Nice review.

It took a while and alot of efforts for most countries in Africa to regain their freedom and independence. It's an honor getting a firsthand experience by reading about it.
