Review of Reconfigurement
Have you ever contemplated your general status in life? Have you ever reached the point where you desperately crave financial literacy because you feel like you only invested your time and money in something invaluable? Or are you thinking of quitting the practical job you chose to switch over the one you love? Well, Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer will assist you in figuring out the answer to these questions.
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that aids in financial literacy and mindful retirement planning. In his book, he highlighted the importance of planning ahead for the future. In the first part of the book, Fleischauer talked about the average lifespan of white people and how it prolonged over time. He relates this prolonged lifespan as a demand that produces more adult citizens that need to plan early for their approaching retirement age. Fleischauer talked about this crisis in life as either an opportunity or a tragedy. He presented a short story about it being a double-sided coin wherein it could be a danger or an opportunity by relating some of his philosophical beliefs. After that, he listed some ways to start your planning by starting with the mindful spending of your income, preferring the job that you love over the high-paying job, the importance of budgeting, the ability to earn income, the numerous types of annuities, disability income insurance as the most needed yet most overlooked, types of beneficiaries, social securities, investments, and will.
My favorite part of the book is it is written in a conversational way to establish rapport with the reader. I also appreciate the parts where the author included some jokes on various pages to keep his readers entertained. Another thing I liked about the book is the title dedicated to each chapter to provide the readers insight into the topic that would be discussed in that specific chapter. Moreover, I was amazed when the author provided some statistical data to support his claims. And lastly, I liked that he provided links regarding career assessments for his readers to easily access them.
There’s nothing I disliked about the book. Indeed, this book deserves 5 out of 5 stars. It was flawlessly edited, as I only noticed little to no errors. The book contains no religious perception that may influence any religious belief. And lastly, the author used simple terms making the book readable.
Although the ideal audience for this book is ages 40-50, I still recommend this to teens and young adults. This book is recommended to give them insights about the things they need to do before reaching retirement age. It will give them more time to plan because the earlier the better.
