Review of A Dream For Peace
Dr. Ghoulem Berrah writes in his autobiography, A Dream for Peace: An Ambassador's Memoir, about his upbringing, studies in France and the United States, his struggle for independence, and his position as President Félix Houphouet-Boigny's assistant. Due to an educational system designed to make pupils forget their origins, Dr. Berrah, born in Algeria when it was still a French colony, saw the progressive erasure of his culture. However, he had no clue that his efforts to fight for independence and a united globe would lead to his fame.
This book was entertaining because it achieved the right mix of the viewpoints of an accomplished storyteller, a seasoned diplomat, and a global changer. He was a master of language, as shown by the book. Throughout the whole book, the author's selflessness motivated me. He vehemently fought for Algeria's independence, acted as a peace broker between warring states like Israel and Palestine, and promoted religious tolerance. He faced great opposition from his Muslim family; therefore, I appreciated him for deciding to marry a Christian despite that. In his personal and professional life, he genuinely cared for people. He organized student demonstrations and served as the highest government peacemaker because he was unwavering in his beliefs.
Not all of his wishes for global peace and unity have come true, as with previous great people living on the planet. But, happily, it is now possible to achieve a united globe due to his strong conviction in young people and the strong foundation he has established through his efforts. As he continually realized and even stressed in his book, it won't be easy, but it is achievable. Above all, he exemplifies how the pursuit of international peace must never come at the expense of the search for harmony and love inside the home.
This book will appeal to everyone interested in learning more about the effectiveness of diplomacy and global peace. Although I would have liked to see a more accurate appraisal of the president, nothing about it upset me. This issue wasn't given enough thought since I haven't read much about him and don't know his shortcomings. But in the end, this boils down to individual preference. The views and efforts of Dr. Berrah will be warmly appreciated by readers who place dialogue above force in resolving conflicts and advancing global peace.
I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars since there was nothing I found objectionable. I only came across a few things that could have been improved while reading the book. This demonstrates the book's expert editing. In all honesty, I am impressed by the author's ability to communicate with her audience, which was clear in this book.
