Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfiguration is the work of the now well-known E. Alan Fleischauer. A nonfiction book based on financial strategy, where you will be shown a very interesting instructional or professional guide on the process of advance planning, seeking to rethink and innovate the way in which current financial services deal with retirement issues.
This rethinking gives a turning point in which reconfiguration is part of the change that the author encourages us to generate, imperatively, towards our understanding of how important it is to plan our future, with an explicit and methodological guide where he embodies all the knowledge acquired after dozens of years as a financial advisor and owner of his own financial services firm, leaving you in this journey with invaluable lessons and quality advice.
Starting from the point of our economic income and its protection, the importance of Social Security, types of investments and their own risks, insurance policies, as well as how to choose the most appropriate for our situation, describing and differentiating the possibilities that can deteriorate the physical and mental health, providing guidance, and expanding our vision about how you will be when you get there if we plan or not in advance, including how it will be and how you will feel when you get there, at the glorious age of 65.
It is definitely a book that has piqued my curiosity. I quite enjoyed reading it, as it took me by surprise for a book about finances. I assumed it would have very complex terms or jargon that could make it a difficult or tedious read. Well, it turned out to be the opposite, Reconfiguration or as I call it, “the bible of planning”, made it very easy to assimilate the topics, in addition to the great sense of humor that the writer gives us.
This is how E. Alan Fleischauer proposes that we reconcile ourselves and look to the horizon, to our own future, and to the opportunities that we cannot leave on pause. Reconfiguration is, without a doubt, a literary usufruct in favor of all those who are knowledgeable or even anxious to exercise control over their future, since you will also participate in different exercises so that this reconfiguration begins from the moment you start this fundamental book.
The points that could have been improved or that may cause some readers to struggle are that it is directed only to the working sector in North America. Since the topics and products that we talk about will range from life insurance and insurance policies to “401(k) and 403” plans in force in that nation, anyone outside this geographic location will grasp the idea and will be able to adapt it to their current system, giving them the opportunity to reconfigure themselves financially.
I also add that from my point of view. It could have been a little deeper in some topics covered, as well as a more extensive edition. But, nonetheless, it is a book of real value that provides great help. That is why I recommend this book to any employee or employer who performs any paid work for the necessary and important action of taking their retirement into their own hands. I also believe that this reading is essential for anyone who cannot answer perhaps the following fundamental question:
What is your number?
“Referring to the capital, you will need to be able to achieve goals after your much-deserved retirement in order to preserve your lifestyle.”
Despite being a short book, it is quite clear, precise, and balanced in terms of its information and neatly edited, as I found no errors whatsoever. So I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. For the ease of digesting its content with simple language, as well as for imbuing it with intelligent humor and the abundance of information that will have a positive impact on the reader and make them want to act on the uncertain future by setting up their own reconfiguration system.
