Dr. Ghoulem Berrah has always wanted the freedom of Algeria, his country. A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir that tells readers how Berrah brought independence to his country.

Berrah’s religion is Islam. On his journey and stay in France while he was on an admission to further his education as a science student, he garnered other Muslims like him to form a bond whose aim is directed at saving Algeria and freeing them from colonial rule. Berrah’s leadership skill and his strive towards making his country a free country are documented in this book. Are you wondering how he did this with the Muslim students? How could a student of science be the one to liberate a whole Algeria? When you read this whole book, you will get enlightened on your thoughts and skepticism, which are yet to be cleared.

Although there are many definitions of what people think of Berrah, to me, I would say Berrah is a rare man whose impact has taught many people what it feels like to be free. We see how he detested colonial rule right from the start. He grew up with this hatred for colonial rule, and nothing changed his mind. This is a very fascinating factor about him, as well as a very big lesson for anyone who comes across this book. Also, I like how he did not take the issue of discrimination lightly. Discrimination is one thing that has hindered many people from enjoying the same rights as others, even though they live in the same country or work for the same company. It has stopped many people from acting freely and has even taken away their happiness by limiting the chances they get to act and behave in a particular manner. This kind of issue was soon forgotten with the intervention of Berrah, and I'm glad that his story, as read about in this book, was documented. It would be an understatement to say I learned a lot from this book, but if there is any other word or phrase to describe how much impact this book has had on me, then I won’t hesitate to use such a word or phrase. Indeed, the book was very impactful.

Noting all the good records that come with Berrah’s name, in addition to things I like about the book and also the way the author wrote the book, I will have no reason to reduce the rating that the book deserves. The book has some errors in it, though; this implies that the book was professionally edited. I will still give the book a rating of five out of five stars

The book is recommended to people who are ready to also make an impact with their lives, just like Berrah did.
