Join the author Poppy Mortimer as she takes us on a captivating journey through the highlights of her dating history in her book, 28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humorous Memoir.

Poppy takes a witty approach to describe how challenging it can be to meet Mr. Right. Prepare yourself for some cringe-worthy yet all-too-familiar moments in certain chapters (looking at you, Mr. Captain and Mr. Bat Cave!).

I found myself completely engaged in Poppy's dating experiences from not one, but three different continents. Her witty humor and captivating writing style make this book impossible to put down. Despite her diverse and unlucky dating experiences, what I admire about Poppy the most is the self-reflection and self-awareness she offers at the end of every chapter. Instead of simply settling for a man, she was determined to find a true partner and companion. Her resilience and determination to find love on her own terms is inspiring.

Poppy's book is not just a collection of humorous stories, but a reflection of self-discovery and growth. The lessons she has learned along the way are valuable for anyone navigating the dating world, and her experiences will leave you laughing, nodding in recognition, and feeling uplifted.

Some chapters of the book tackle sensitive topics, for which I appreciate the inclusion of trigger warnings. Put simply, Poppy's resilience is seriously impressive and a total mood-booster.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. There is nothing I can think of that I didn't like.

I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. With a mix of humor and valuable lessons, this book is a must-read for both men and women, offering insight into what to expect and how to treat others while navigating the dating world. It's a light and enjoyable read that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and leave you feeling entertained.
