Review of The Warrior's Meditation
The Warrior's Meditation by Richard L. Haight is a non-fiction book about several meditation techniques. Meditation has a different definition based on the form of meditation. Generally, we can define it as a state of vibrant clarity that comes from being aware of the present moment. Meditation has principles such as concentrating on something specific while excluding everything else. In practicing meditation, several things matter, such as time, place, position, and eyes. The eyes should remain closed since it enhances concentration. The main challenge when meditating is that the mind may get tired or distracted. He describes vagal breathing, where he talks about ways in which people can practice vagal breathing. The author explores each sense of the body individually, describing how it can be used to perfect meditation. He describes the meditation using each sense of the body stepwise. To practice meditation, you have to follow those steps for each sense of the body.
The book was educative in matters of meditation. The author discusses the importance of meditation, such as it cures inflammation. He also teaches people how to do meditation and who know it, how to improve meditation by improving concentration. Concentrating on a flame is a good way of improving concentration when meditating. He also provided links to external sources for information that he borrowed and added to the book, for example, the study about stimulation of the vagus nerve. It helps people learn more about meditation, helping them understand what the author was talking about. The author provides links to videos showing practice steps so that readers can watch the practice procedures. Videos make understanding easier, so with the help of the videos, the readers can understand the practice steps well.
I have nothing negative to say about the book. It was good, and I learned much about meditation from the book. The author described the steps of meditation well, ensuring anyone would understand.
I rate The Warrior's Meditation by Richard L. Haight five out of five stars. The book was exceptionally well-edited because I did not find any errors. The book was well organized, and the author explained the practice lessons stepwise, ensuring easy understanding. He provided the basics of meditation that beginners can apply. He used video links since visuals contribute to a better understanding of complex content. With all these, the book deserves a perfect rating.
I recommend this book to people interested in meditation. It would help since the book talks about meditation, where it provides different meditation techniques and how we can perfect each.
