Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's autobiography, A Dream For Peace, is about a guy who loves his nation dearly. The account spans the author's early years up till his latter years. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah tells his tale of fighting for Algeria's independence. The author, who was born in Algeria, has firsthand knowledge of what it's like to live in a colonized area; it's not pleasant. French colonization of Algeria resulted in the loss of Algeria's identity, which was reflected in the educational system where Algerians were taught French rather than their native tongue. While they were instructed to read up on their history, they were forced to grasp the geography and history of France. Despite several challenges, including a hesitant brother, the author was adamant about changing his life and chose to pursue a medical degree in France. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah doesn't just focus on his schoolwork. He becomes actively involved in politics and the struggle for Algerians' freedom.

The author used a sufficient number of images to support his descriptions of his early life, his fight for freedom, and other experiences. I had an easy time reading since I could connect the descriptions of various events to the pictures.

I was interested in this book to the very end since it is full of exciting occurrences. I occasionally wished the author had written more about his experience. The degree of religious tolerance I found in Berrah's family is an unusual aspect. They communicated and got along well with their neighbors in Algeria even when he was a young child. Incredible is his drive for independence and constant outreach to his brothers, particularly after they had humiliated and imprisoned them. I will also applaud the author's effort and capacity to provide exact dates for the events recounted in the book.

The only aspect of the book that bothered me was that it appeared as though the author wrote extensively on several themes, making it too long and somewhat tedious for the typical reader. He occasionally employed a large number of intricate words that would be too challenging for the reader to understand.

The book A Dream for Peace is deserving of a perfect score. I sincerely give this book a score of 5 out of 5. It's uncommon to find a nonfiction book of this size that keeps you interested all the way through. In addition, this book is expertly edited, well-written, simple to read, and a fantastic source of inspiration.

Although this book has a few references to religion, I think it is appropriate for all faiths. I advise anyone interested in historical events to read this book. Since this book is nonfiction, nonfiction fans will find it helpful. With this piece, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah inspired me. This book will be helpful if you need the motivation to become a better and more unselfish leader.
