Summary

My Brave face is a book that lets out the story of Heather Simpson from Australia. In the text, the writer tells us about a rare disease that she was born with. From a tender age, she met several challenges but managed to get through the toughest situations. Later in her life, she met the love of her life, Raymond they wedded and soon had their baby son Stephen. Knowing that Stephen had a fifty percent chance to inherit this disease, he was tested only to verify that he had inherited the disease. Heather's knowledge of this disease made her feel disappointed and hurt for her minor, Stephen was not going to be able to engage in life activities like any other individual, he was disabled nonetheless Stephens's parents took it upon themselves that he was to experience life in through traveling the world meet new people make friends and experience different enlightenment. The Simpson family explores the world together and never lets the disorder prohibit the world's excursions.

Positive Aspects
What I love about this book is seeing different life lessons put out by the author from being educated about the rare disability to how to treat a person with a disability and overcoming challenges be it one is the guardian or the disabled person.
The author made the book authentic and as a reader, I was able to relate to every situation through the pictures included in this amazing book.

Negative Aspects
What I did not like about this book was that the author excluded page enumeration and as a reader, I can only mention a chapter and not specify the page.
The writer would use different names for Stephen(Steve/Stevie) which were not cited at the beginning of my reading. It also paused confusion when another of the same name Stephen was included (when the second Stephen left it left me as a reader confused)

Rating
I enjoyed this book and I will give it a 4 out of 5 stars merely because I noted no errors as I read and the author's inclusion of pictures made the reader easy to link to each scenario. The writer's use of Stephen's other names occasionally brought confusion to the bookworm.

Recommendation
I highly recommend this book to anyone that's in the healthcare system/people that make the system because of the lack of knowledge about disabled people's different needs and how they feel when certain laws are put in place without being consulted with the person with the disability. I would also recommend the book to disabled individuals, their families, friends, or guardians. It truly takes a lot from the disabled and any other individual closer to them and this book is an eye-opener for every single person involved with a disabled person.
