10 Leading Tools by KG Butler is a book about attaining and refining leadership skills. An experienced leader himself, the author starts by giving a unique definition of the term "leadership" and breaks down the concept by explaining models and types of leadership. This is the first part of the book. The second part is about the actual 10 tools that are keys to leadership.

I love the structure of the book. It has this cohesiveness, which makes it a pleasant read. I appreciate the chapter summaries. These are especially helpful if the reader is not familiar with the subject or if the chapter was too intense. The addition of quotes before a chapter begins was a nice touch as well. The quotes set the tone and explain what is to follow in one or two lines. The author's use of his real-life stories in explaining the tools was a good move to keep the reader engaged. The effect this had on me was that I understood the concept better because the story made it more practical. The stories brought the concepts to life.

Books about leadership are often written for academics in terms of language and depth, but not this one. As a way of remembering the tools, the author used acronyms, which was creative. His writing style is clear and not academic. He used everyday language and added some humor to his writing. This created a conversational experience for the reader.

The book is packed with significant knowledge for every type of human being. The concepts are easy to grasp, practical, and can be easily applied. The knowledge is not only applied in leadership; it can be used to help the reader develop a better decision-making mechanism for themselves and others.

However, the introduction of the book was a bit of a drag. It felt like the author was drilling the importance of the book into the readers' minds, and it felt quite repetitive.

I recommend this book to people who are leaders in any space, be it in business, family, or a community of sort. The book is also suitable for those interested in leadership, which is a crucial skill in the human experience in general. The book is well written, with no grammatical or spelling errors. I give it a 4 out of 5 because of my issue with the introduction. Teens and adults are a suitable audience in terms of age, as the book does not contain profanity or sexual content.
