The Eve Code by Mariett Ramm is an empowerment book meant for women who are looking for a way to succeed in life. It talks about feminine issues, such as the menstrual cycle, and how it affects the emotional part of a woman. It goes into detail about being a woman and living in a men’s world. It criticizes the idea that a woman is weaker just because her sex has been depicted as the weaker one for centuries. It is a self-help book, yes, but it is not a condescending one. It really makes a woman feel empowered just for being a woman.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way Mariett Ramm makes her female audience feel heard and seen. We as women are so used to being shamed for things that are out of our control; reading this book helped me feel more confident in who I am, but also accept my flaws as they are, and not as a weakness. Stress, fear, and emotions are normal, and sometimes they’re even good for you. They can help balance every aspect of your life. I also really liked the more spiritual aspects of this book. Being a religious individual, I particularly appreciated the connection between everyday life and the spiritual one.

There really is nothing I didn’t like about this book. It’s an excellent one and lots of people could benefit from reading it. Ramm envisioned a role for women: the Chief Empowerment Officer, which is basically a woman who becomes the leader of her own life by empowering herself and thus empowering women around her. How can anyone not like this concept? I will definitely try to achieve it!

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is an awesome book. There are no other words to describe it. The writing style of the author is also very peculiar. She offers lots of insights and advice without sounding condescending, which was what I was afraid of finding when I started this book. Mariett Ramm actually managed to empower her readers without coming off as a know-it-all. I also do not doubt that the book was professionally edited. I couldn’t find any grammatical errors in it.

Firstly, I would recommend this book to all women, but that goes without saying. I would also strongly recommend reading this book to all men, especially younger ones. I know that in our society it’s really hard for a man to understand women. We are much more layered than any man could possibly think. If guys want to truly understand what we are like, they should definitely read this book, it’s a very good beginning!
