Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a nonfiction novel. The book focuses on the importance of planning ahead while still enjoying the gift that is the present. The text seeks to reconfigure the rules of traditional retirement planning. This is achieved by assessing the present as one also prepares for the future. The novel discusses career choices, investing, having fun and health insurance. The book also dives deep into retirement planning by discussing things like 401 k, social security and possibly working beyond the age of sixty-five. In each chapter of the novel Fleischauer explains a financial topic. This is done in detail. The chapters seek to get readers to better understand the financial system. Having this knowledge will therefore allow people to make more informed financial decisions.

I love how honest the text is. It doesn’t sugarcoat the hard realities such as unexpected illness or living longer than expected. The topic of financial planning is usually boring. I love how Fleischauer presents the information in a manner that is engaging. He makes it fun and informative at the same time. This text is extremely detailed, and that is what I love most about it. The novel provides applicable information. It also provides resources such as websites and other sources of reference. These resources can be used to assist with crafting a good financial plan. The arrangement of the text is another thing that I like. I like how the author slowly bills the seriousness of the text and explains everything in detail.

There is nothing that I dislike about this book. The novel is a great self-help book. It is informative and relevant. The text is also applicable to almost anyone. People of today have short attention spans. Even if something is important if it's too lengthy it is unlikely that people will remain attentive. But this book is short, it gets straight to the point allowing readers to quickly grasp what they need.

I rate this book 4 out of 4. It is well-written with no grammatical errors. The information provided by the text is simply necessary and useful. So many people including myself as been struggling with this topic. This book will answer so much question.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to reconfigure their financial life. If you are looking for something to guide you along the journey of retirement planning this is novel. This book is really for everyone. Whether you are young or not retirement planning is everybody's business.
