Review of Surviving the Business of Healthcare
Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C's book, Surviving the Business of Healthcare, was written with the sole purpose of assisting patients in navigating every aspect of healthcare and saving money; it covers everything from choosing the best insurance policy to deciding which options to use when buying pharmaceuticals and medications for a patient. Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C was born into a family of healthcare practitioners, starting with her great-grandfather and continuing through her father and eventually her. She decided that this was her calling as well. Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C began her career as a music teacher, but in her thirties, she made the switch to the healthcare industry and earned the title of Physician Assistant (PA). From that point forward, her sole goal was to assist in delivering patients with the best healthcare possible. This book is broken down into 29 concise and insightful chapters that can help a patient choose the best medical treatment.
The most captivating aspect of this book that I adored was the author's use of storytelling to explain why certain medications are necessary and why they aren't. She also included a personal account of her own experience with cancer and how insurance prevented her family from going bankrupt. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), which was put into effect under the Obama administration, and the important dates in the evolution of healthcare were also a privilege to learn. The author also offers advice on what kind of insurance to enroll in, and her top option is the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), which may be invested in ETFs once it has accumulated a moderately sizable fund. In addition, through the author's use of succinct narrative, I was also able to learn about the significance of the living will, which is an option offered to patients, and I found it engaging.
Nothing in this book was repulsive, and there were no grammatical mistakes. Despite not being an adventure book, which I adore, it was fascinating and not tedious. The author did a fantastic job of combining her experience and insight to produce a book that is both educational and beneficial.
I would therefore give this book a resounding 4 out of 4 stars because I did not find any grammar mistakes, vulgar terms, or anything else that would detract from its understanding. This book, in my opinion, has been exceptionally well-edited.
This book is instructive and acts as a manual for readers whose aims are to follow to obtain the best healthcare service they are entitled to. Therefore, I would strongly advise them to do so if they wish to learn more about managing health welfare. Additionally, I think that healthcare providers would find this book interesting.
