Review of The Mindset
People come from different walks of life, some better than others. But what sets us apart is the lessons we acquire from our experiences. The mindset shows the journey of a man who is driven to have a better future than his past. The Mindset is a memoir about Ace Bowers' success.
Chaos, disappointment, and pain summed up Ace Bowers' life growing up. He was never at peace. He built walls around himself to prevent the people around him from knowing how his life was. Although some parts of his life were meant to be tough, it’s what made him who he is. His background became his driving force to acquire a better life for his children and wife. Through this memoir, we get to see his journey unfold as he tells us about his worst and proudest moments.
I loved how well the book was written. He describes what he goes through so vividly. The author takes the reader through a whirlwind of emotions. Most of all, I admire the author for having the courage to write this and share it with the world. The best and worst moments in his life, his struggles with being better than where he came from, but most of all, the change in his mindset that made him who he is today. His character is admirable in how he pushed himself to be better.
Through his life and his sharing of this book, I love how people can get to learn from his life. There are people who are in the same situation as he was, and this book may serve as a sign of hope for them. The author also proves that our parents' shortcomings aren’t our own. He also proves that we need to decide who we want to be and what we want, or in his case, what we don’t want, in order to move from whatever position you may be in, whether financially or emotionally. Reading through this book, we get to learn about friendship, hard work, forgiveness, and revisiting our lives.
There is nothing I disliked about this book. It was exceptionally well edited. I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is because the author, Ace Bowers, shows how success doesn’t come without hard work and sacrifices. He also stresses the fact that for you to get to a point of financial freedom, you need to have that hunger for it. A driving force should be present to propel you to your desired goals. Finally, giving up isn’t an option.
I would recommend this book to a lot of people. Firstly, I would recommend it to those that have lost hope. I believe reading this may be a wake-up call that shows it isn’t the end. I would recommend it to those that want to be successful but can’t fathom how to get to that point. This book is not a how-to manual, but reading his story may serve as an inspiration to you.
