Dream for Peace is a memoir by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah about some of the trying times in his life. He explains all he had to go through in his struggle for peace. He is many things today but had to overcome a lot to get to where he is today. He prospered; amidst all adversities.

Dr. Ghoulem was born in Algeria during French colonialism. As the last male child in his family, he suffers all forms of racial abuse. He witnessed firsthand the suffering of the Algerians at the hands of their colonial master. He becomes an activist; to help save his people. He traveled the world and gained more knowledge to aid him in his cause. The book further goes on to talk about his life and his achievements. How does his life pan out? What other barriers did he face? To find out, get a copy.

The author is someone I look up to; he inspires me. He kept on going, despite all the adversities he faced. His failed marriage, discrimination, and prison do not stop him from achieving his goals. He learns not to discriminate against any race or religion. As an open-minded person, he treats everyone equally. The writing was clear and concise, making it easy to read. I liked that he was passionate about his country even from a young age. He did his best to give back to the community by sponsoring scholarships for young Africans. The author met many influential people; he always had the best interests of his people at heart. Driven by his patriotic nature, it is safe to say that he lived a fulfilling life.

I did not dislike anything about the book; it was well-written and well-paced. It explored racism, an issue we face in the world today. Racism causes one to be lonely, depressed, and detached from society. It leads to death sometimes and should be heavily frowned upon worldwide. I found no errors in the book, which means it was exceptionally well-edited. I happily give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. He lived an exemplary life, enough to make all who have come across him very proud.

Racial abuse is a horror to society. I recommend this book to all children suffering from racial abuse. This book shows that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. I recommend it to lovers of memoirs.
