Review of A Dream For Peace
A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir about the author's life experiences as a microbiologist, political activist, and one of Algeria's most famous freedom fighters. This book teaches us the struggles of the blacks and how they were racially abused and discriminated against.
Dr. Berrah was born in Algeria during the French colonial rule. Unfortunately for him, he lost his father at a tender age. Berrah's mother had no option but to ensure her son was properly educated and enjoyed the privileges of life. Berrah experienced racism and discrimination during his high school days. It was an experience he would never forget. As time went on, Berrah got a scholarship to study medicine at the University of Bordeaux, France. Being a medical student didn't stop him from joining an association that fought against colonialism. Berrah's commitment to his association led him to prison. Subsequently, his journey led him to America, where he continued to progress and achieve great things. Grab a copy of this book to enjoy the memoir of Ghoulem Berrah.
There are many positive aspects to this book. The author gave a well-detailed account of his life experiences. The book was perfectly written. Berrah wrote this book in simple vocabulary words, which makes it easy for readers to comprehend. The author is a hero and a passionate citizen who cares for his people. I love the author's personality. He was an intelligent and hard-working man who didn't give up on his goals in life. I love the role Berrah's mom played in his life. She showed us the true definition of motherhood. I learned the true characteristics of a leader. I love that Berrah didn't stop at being a popular figure in society. He extended his love to humanity and not just his fellow Muslims by building a mosque and a church in Cote d'Ivoire. Furthermore, I learned that peace can go a long way toward resolving disputes.
The author painted a very vivid picture in my mind. However, I found a few things about the book that I don't like. The book was too lengthy, which could make one get bored or tired while reading it. I also disagree with the author's statement to a feminist that women should be more focused on raising children. Aside from these few things I disliked, I enjoyed every other part of the book. The author inspired me a lot with this amazing inspirational book.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book contains no grammatical errors. This shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. I recommend this book to political activists, diplomats, and those aspiring to be great leaders.
