Barbara's book, Surviving the Business of Healthcare, addresses healthcare in the United States and guides readers on how to select and afford the best healthcare. Barbara was diagnosed with amelanotic melanoma after working as a physician assistant since 1997. In this book, she describes her experience with her disease. By detailing her options and how she navigated through all the support available to her, Barbara provides a much more personal example of how to navigate through the healthcare system. The author uses her personal experience of being a third-generation physician who provides a service to the community to show readers what the healthcare system should truly offer. Uniquely, this book also provides advice for both those in healthcare and those who seek help from it.

Surviving the Business of Healthcare by Barbara Galutia Regis, M.S., PA-C is a stunning guide that details the structure and channels within the healthcare system. With short, comprehensive chapters that were filled with personal stories from her childhood, this book was absolutely easy to understand. The author discussed some critical factors in healthcare that would be otherwise unknown or regarded as irrelevant by an outsider.

Barbara provided information on the options available to people who wish to acquire health insurance and those who wish to use alternate ways to secure medicine. It was easy to enjoy this book because of the balance between its serious content and the author's childhood memories. Her analysis of the U.S. healthcare system and its policies was completely apt and insightful. Amazingly, there really wasn't a single thing that I hated about this book.

Due to the author's analysis of the healthcare system in the United States, the comprehensive chapters, the author's inclusion of the available options for health insurance, her inclusion of other ways to purchase medicine, and the error-free content, I can't help but give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. All of the above factors influenced the book's final rating. This well-edited book is a rare guide that more readers should take a serious look at reading.

I would recommend this book to every adult, as I believe that it discusses and provides guidance on a very serious topic that more people should be aware of. The knowledge provided in this book is critical, and unfortunately, there aren't a lot of people who have this knowledge currently. Luckily, this book can easily rectify that.
