If you ever wish to find your soulmate, dating is a must. The thing about dating is you're meeting someone you know nothing about, so you cannot predict how the date will turn out. You just have to keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best. In 28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humourous Memoir, Poppy Mortimer shared some of her most ludicrous and horrible dates. Will she find someone compatible with her personality? Will one of these horrible dates be her prince in disguise?

Judging by the cover and title of this book, you can tell it would be an interesting read. I enjoyed reading this book. The author had a humorous voice which made the book interesting to read. I easily finished reading it in one sitting. The author made it easy for a reader to get lost in her story. While the dates were horrible, they did provide comedic relief and I could not help from laughing out loud. Some of her experiences were hard to fathom. I found it hard to wrap my head around the guy who had terrible breath and refused to visit the dentist. The author smelled a horrible scent and wondered if a dog had defecated somewhere. It turned out to be her date's mouth!

There were no negative aspects of this book. I liked the way it was structured. At the beginning of each chapter, the author listed how old she was when the date took place, where it took place and how she was asked out on the date. At the end of each chapter, she shared what she learned from each date. These lessons will hopefully help a reader to not make the same mistakes she made. I liked the author's personality. She likes to laugh at other person's misfortunes and had to restrain herself during some of the crazier dates.

This book was a delightful read. It was exceptionally well edited, with no typing or grammatical errors. I take pleasure in giving it a perfect score of 4 out of 4 stars. I had to read it twice because of how hilarious it was. My favorite date was the guy that had excessive saliva. Whenever he spoke, spittle would fly all over the place. They went to a restaurant, and a wad of spit flew straight onto the waitress's forehead. There were too many hilarious moments to count.

People who are still searching for their husbands or wives would benefit from reading this book. The author's experiences will give an idea of all the crazy things to look out for. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading comedic books.
