Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement is an informative book written by E. Alan fleischauer. The book enlightens the reader about the prominence of financial planning before retirement and making life after and before retirement satisfying. This book not only talks about financial planning, but it covers many topics like different sources for investments other than individual shares, how to take a career aptitude test, the importance of health insurance, and how income influences our financial planning ahead. More than just words, the author mentioned how to practically use the knowledge from this book in life, for instance rather than just mentioning career aptitude testing, the author referenced the websites in which the reader could find the career aptitude assessment. And in respect of investments author has communicated about many investment opportunities like mutual funds and their pros and cons. Even if the reader is well financially planned, he could read this book as it comprehends many topics which will develop the reader's knowledge.
The key positive aspect I found in this book is the topics that the author has discussed and I feel every chapter has knowledge that will lead to making good retirement planning. And the way the author communicates about the topics feels like a normal conversation that could be understood by anyone. The dense topics like Roth IRAs or 401(k) are expressed simply and amusing by cracking some jokes. Alan also included many further references which will help the readers ahead If they want to know more about the chapters. When I took the book, I didn’t expect much information from the book and thought the contents will not be interesting but I found it entertaining in addition to informative. The author didn’t make the chapters boring with a long speech, he managed to keep the interest of the reader by connecting jokes to the topics.
I don’t find any negatives in this book and it is well edited. I have a suggestion that rather than giving numbers to the chapters, it will be a little help for the readers If each chapter is titled with the topic discussed under it. But it can’t be counted as a negative. overall, this book is informative.
This book is well edited and I like the way the information is delivered by the author like a conversation. I would rate this book four out of four stars. There is nothing to reduce the rating. If you want to know the importance of financial planning before retirement, this is the right book for that.
I think age doesn’t matter to read this book, as retirement is to some degree everyone has to deal with, and this book assists to prepare for it and it will be more beneficial to check the additional resources referenced in the book.
