Review of A Dream For Peace
It is not and has never been easy for one person to bring about change in a society. Over the years, I have come across a lot of memoirs of great men who all tried in their various ways to bring change to their society or their nation as a whole. I recently discovered Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's exceptional and inspiring memoir, A Dream for Peace. This book will undoubtedly amaze your mind. This book tells us about the author's journey to bring about change in his country and beyond. This memoir is filled with lots of lessons and inspirations that one has to learn from.
Dr. Ghoulem Berrh, who happens to be the author, was born in a small town in Algeria and is from a polygamous home. His birth town faced a lot of security challenges. His mom was a very strict mother and a strong disciplinarian whose interest was in her child's quality education. The author's country at that time was a French colony, and this made the French language a compulsory language in their educational curriculum. One can only imagine the pain of studying a foreign culture in your own country. As a result of what happened at the graduation ceremony, they carried out an anti-colonial protest. Although the author was given a scholarship to study at any university of his choice, his fight didn't end there. Dr. Ghoulem was still arrested later on. Do you want to know what happened after that? Go get your own copy now.
I loved this book a lot, I must say. The author's bravery really amazed me. It made me eager to read about him going through a lot just for the sake of peace. His story and the role he played in decolonization were both inspiring and intriguing to me.Of course, he became very successful. His mandate gave him the opportunity to meet various notable world leaders. Scientifically, he became the first scientist to discover a hypothesis that was later identified by Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme. This book is a hope-restorer for many African countries. Every reader has to emulate this man. He was not only a freedom fighter; he was also a good friend, father, son, and above all, a good role model. I discovered that running away from your nation in desperate times is not the best solution.
Throughout this book, I just didn't like the abbreviations. The abbreviations were complex, and this slowed down my pace of reading. Apart from this minor issue, I enjoyed the book.
I would like to give A Dream For Peace 4 out of 4 stars. The minor issue of the abbreviations didn't deduct any stars as I didn't see any errors and the writing style was perfect. The book was well-edited too. It had some slight erotic content, but that didn't really matter.
Lastly, I would recommend this book to all freedom fighters. If you really have a dream of restoring peace in your society or nation, go for this memoir. Memoir lovers and those interested in politics will also love this book.
