Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer examines the inevitable retirement deeply. Alan emphasizes on the importance of proper prior planning given that the average lifespan of Americans today is much longer than years back. This means people will be around longer than before. They all need to plan on income streams and health insurances early enough as one’s ability to work diminishes with age. He unfortunately points out that because this subject lacks proper direction and support, it is very possible for one to get it wrong in retirement. On the other hand, he quickly points out that it is possible to reconfigure one’s life during retirement and live a meaningful retirement life. I could not agree more with him on the baseline fact that income is required throughout one’s life and most importantly after the age of 65 years. Health problems start streaming in more readily at that advanced age requiring some form of long term care and support.
Alan emphasizes on the need for people to engage in jobs they love rather than work for money. He also urges people to enjoy life before retirement. He clearly emphasizes on the importance of investing in life protection, health insurance and social security. Alan also shares a lot on what a will allows for in the event that an individual is no longer alive. Am glad I chose to read and review this book as it has given me valuable insights that I’m already working on to safeguard my retirement. I wish every adult would get a chance to read this book to enable them plan or reconfigure their retirements accordingly.
The most positive aspect I quickly picked about this book is that it is easy and very enjoyable to read. Much as one would expect to find robust financial matters candidly discussed, the writer was able to throw in a lot of humor making it an interesting read to the end. Alan also gave very easy and relatable examples throughout the book making it very applicable. There was nothing that I disliked about this great book.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 because it is well edited without any notable errors. It is also organized exceptionally well and very enjoyable to read.
I highly recommend this book for Insurance and social security planners or organizations. Individuals looking for information about planning for their own future retirement will find this book very insightful. Lectures and researchers discussing retirement topics will be able to get valuable information worth debating from this book. Lastly, retirees who would wish to reconfigure their current retirement situations will be able to get very good strategies and insights from this book.
