Review of It's None of Your Business
[Following is a volunteer review of "It's None of Your Business" by Jordan K. Michaels.]
Spirituality has been an important aspect of human life since the beginning of time. People have always been conscious about what they believe in, and somehow they have also tried to force the same beliefs on others.
It’s None of Your Business is a summary of the author, Jordan K. Michaels’ life-changing events that led her to becoming a fully fledged Christian. Using many examples in the modern world such the model of a business venture especially a company and the varied desires of each generation in her family, she tries to give lessons on how to let God permeate our lives and literally take the wheels in our lives. In addition to this, she actively tries to weed out the roots of evil in the society while having visions and dreams of God saving her life.
This book is very instrumental for a person who is interested in reforming their lives to live under God’s guidelines and commands. The author uses many of her personal life anecdotes to spread her message and also bring some humor into the somber reading session. The book takes an authoritarian tone with the reader, as the author is trying to impart her beliefs on the reader. In a way, the tone also invokes the author’s passion and emotions within the reader. The use of bible verses and quotes are prevalent in the book, as it is customary with Christian motivational and educational books. In addition to the quotes, she also uses questions to effectively initiate the understanding and accelerate the learning processes.
I must admit that reading It’s None of Your Business was a difficult task indeed. Firstly, the title of the book did not make a lot of sense to me. Secondly, in as much as that it is an intriguing read, it is confusing to follow through its intended message as the author jumps from one issue to another, tackling multiple unrelated issues at a time. This completely put me off. That was the feature that I dislike most about the book. Lastly, it is very evident that the author subtly portrays very conservative feelings, which may cause friction with some people. I rate this book three out of four stars for these reasons.
This book appears to be exceptionally well-edited, as there are no grammatical errors present. I would recommend this book to an audience of newly converted and conservative Christians due to the message being reiterated in the book.
