Schroedinger The Wonder Cat is an intelligently crafted non-fiction story about the author, Aaron Rosen and his fantastic cat, Schroedinger. The fun-filled adventures of Schroedinger are documented starting with the beginning of his newfound relationship with Aaron, to him being named and included as a member of Rosen’s family. His is a story of love and compassion among those who took him in and this remains the central theme throughout the short, yet thrilling narration.

The story is perfectly intriguing; it aims to capture the reader’s attention with its fun and excitement and never fails at it. I especially loved the author’s acknowledgment that Schroedinger has a personality and body language that gave him a sort of intelligence that was uncommon in most animals. This speaks volumes about the author's attention to and adoration for his cat. The few chapters in the book are also emotive as they show Schroedinger’s journey of growth by experiencing change and loss in his life.

Several photos are included in the book to appreciate further the beautiful friendship between Aaron and Schroedinger, where both seemed to really love being together and enjoy each other’s company. The author did well in adding the pictures as they further emphasize the dominant themes and make every part of the story deeper and more real.

Humor interspersed throughout the book makes it all the more glorious. Phrases such as “I’m the one without the tail” in the ‘About the author’ section offer the reader even more reason to continue reading as each section offers its fair share of fun and laughter while adding more layers to its protagonist, Schroedinger. It was very intelligent in this aspect. The Cat Dictionary or “Cattionary,” as named by the author, is even more clever with the author defining words beginning with “cat” in his own version.

“Schroedinger Growing Up” is the section I loved the most as it details the new experiences faced by Schroedinger as he begins a new chapter in his life. He demonstrates his ability to reason and make decisions all on his own, an aspect that is amazing for an animal. At one point, it was as if the author was describing any human being. Also, at no point does the author call Schroedinger his ‘pet’ as he believes that he was far more than just a pet.

I encountered no errors while reading this book. It was professionally edited and I have no complaints about it apart from its short length. I would have loved to read more of Schroedinger’s escapades. The author did a very commendable job in the book. I, therefore, rate it a perfect 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend it to anyone interested in fun books, cat-lovers and cat owners.

A nonfiction book that talks about the newfound relationship between the author and his cat, Schroedinger. Some animals' behavior sometimes amazed me especially, dogs. They always make reasonable decisions by themselves sometimes far beyond the scope of animals. I would love to read this book. Great review.
