Review of A Dream For Peace
Ghoulem Berrah was born in Algeria. He was part of a humble family but concerned about education. Thanks to his mother, he had good opportunities and learned great principles. That is why although he traveled the world, he was always attentive to his home and helping others. Ghoulem traveled to the United States and other countries thanks to his academic merits. It is how he became a liaison between nations and learned about different cultures. It brought him many problems and complicated situations, but he remained firm in working in favor of the people. Regardless of social status, he helped everyone in general. His dealings were fair in small towns and advising politicians and influential people. A Dream For Peace will inspire many people because it is the true autobiography of a man who fought without forgetting his origins and made many movements for peace and equality.
The photographs were one of the aspects I liked the most. A Dream For Peace includes everything from family photographs to influential personalities. I thought they were good detail because they corroborate the story and present the world from another perspective. But I also liked the language used in the narration because it is easy to understand and has no technical vocabulary. Anyone can read it without problems. The explanations are in a very fluent way. It is like maintaining a conversation with a serious and formal man with an objective perspective.
The negative aspect is that the reading sometimes gets lost in the details. There are moments when the reader may feel he loses continuity because sometimes something is explained too much in one direction, but the story has to follow a different path. I would have liked the construction of the ideas to have been more concrete in some parts. I understand that these details help to create a good atmosphere in some moments, but it could have trusted the reader's instinct a little more.
I give this book 3 out of 4 stars for all the arguments I have mentioned. I want to rectify that the reading is good and the anecdotes are worth reading. I am sure there will be audiences who will be amazed by the attention to detail in the explanations. But from my perspective, the narrative construction aspect can improve. This book may need editing to have a reading that feels without stumbles or abrupt changes of ideas.
I recommend A Dream For Peace to an adult audience for the type of experiences. Anyone can read it because the vocabulary is appropriate and clear. However, a certain maturity or life experience is required to get the most out of this reading. This book is suitable for those readers who want to know more about history and are interested in travel and life situations. A Dream For Peace has a beautiful message and shows that political, social, and cultural diversity is possible.
