My Life uncensored by Cristina Caymares is a memoir of the author's life from childhood to her adult life. This book is full of emotions and complicated relationships, which reflect her real-life events. After her father's tragic death at a young age, Christina who at the time was only three years old and her older sister lives in Miami with their mother. During holidays aunt and uncle takes girls to Los Angeles, to let girls explore more than their mother could give them at the time. Christina does not like those trips and she hates to tell any unpleasant things about her mother even if it is true.

Each chapter of the book is dedicated to Cristina's family members. The first one was dedicated to her father who deceased early when he was only twenty-six and was not a part of her life. About her grandfather who was sentenced and spent life in prison, she wrote in the second chapter. The third one was dedicated to her mother who was very pretty and men found her attractive, she was married five times. The fourth and last chapter was about Christina's grandmother to whom she refers as a ghost she sees in dark times.

I liked that book is well written and interesting, although it consists only of 44 pages and is a quick read, the situations are well described. I like that in the memoir are added photos of Christina's family, which gives more insight and helps with the visualization of events.

Overall there was nothing to dislike in the book as it is true events of Christina's life and I am glad she shared her story. After reading the description was waiting for a more dramatic plot, however, I am not disappointed in it.

I liked this book very much because it is well edited and easily perceivable. Was hooked and read it in one piece that is why give it 4 out of 4 stars. Book made me think about injustice and I felt sympathetic about Christina’s life thereby the main goal of the book is reached.

Would suggest My Life uncensored by Cristina Caymares to the readers who enjoy memoirs, especially ones who have a short voyage, this would be a great short read. Teenagers who are in similar situations and do not have a strong father figure in their lives would benefit from this book as well.
