Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's autobiography is titled A Dream for Peace. This book might be better categorized as an autobiography. Political diplomat Dr. Ghoulem Berrah has helped African nations develop, gain independence, and exercise their sovereignty. His international diplomatic expertise has influenced this work. From his early years as an Algerian youngster growing up in a European colony to his current position as a presidential advisor, it chronicles Dr. Berrah's challenges.

In the first person, A Dream for Peace is written like an autobiography. A preface written by the now-deceased Titular Archbishop of Bolsena introduces this work and pays tribute to the author. The ability of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah to stand by his convictions was one quality I particularly admired. He thought that the African ideology was fundamentally based on liberty, freedom, and peace. Muslim extremist Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was a diplomat who put his life in danger to bring about peace. This book regularly refers to his fantastic relationship with his black Catholic wife. I respect Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's resolve to bring about peace in the African nation of Côte d'Ivoire and his fortitude.

The majority of this book is written in English, however, there are a few exchanges written in French. That was the only aspect of the book that I did not enjoy. I appreciated the use of pictures since I think they help to demonstrate the authorship of the various historical events in which the author has taken part. The epilogue after the book, as well as the author's message supporting peace in Africa and his message regarding racism in the United States, were notable highlights for me.

I give Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's book A Dream for Peace a score of four out of four stars. I have read several autobiographies of political figures, but this one is the most fascinating so far. While reading this book, I didn't notice any typos.  This book is filled with quality editing and excellent writing.

To everyone interested in the diplomatic history of Africa, I would suggest reading A Dream for Peace. Additionally, I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys reading historical literature with a political focus. A great book for history students to read would be this one.
