Review of A Dream For Peace
A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is an autobiography of the author, who was a political activists and scientist. The author shared stories of his life experience and the various challenges he faced while fighting for the independence of his country, Algeria.
The book begins with the early life of Dr. Berrah. He was born in the northeastern part of Algeria during the French colonial rule. Unfortunately, he lost his father, Hamedi Berrah, at a tender age. Berrah's mother single-handedly raised and cared for him. Berrah was racially abused in his college days at College de Batna. Ghoulem Berah was an intelligent young man with a lot of dreams he wanted to accomplish in life. He got a scholarship to study at the University of Bordeaux, France. While in school, he participated in school politics and joined various organizations that fought against oppression. He was the leader of an association that fought against colonialism. Berrah faced a lot of challenges, like racism and imprisonment. He traveled to America to further his education, where he became a scientist. Berrah became an influential figure in society who worked with important people like the president of Cote d'Ivoire.
The author is an amazing writer as he gave a detailed account of his life experiences. I loved his personality as he was a simple man. Despite his achievements in life, he was humble and down to earth. I also love his determination to achieve his goal in life. I have read a lot of books similar to this, but I find this particular book to be exceptional. I love the author's writing style and the use of simple words. I like the author's perseverance in fighting for his countrymen. They were maltreated and discriminated against by the whites. I also love how Berrah's mom loved and cared for him after the death of his father. She should serve as a role model to all the single moms in the world today.
I found absolutely nothing wrong with this book. The author really inspired me with this inspirational book. I love how Berrah loved and cared for everyone. He practiced the true meaning of humanity. Despite being a Muslim, he cared for people of all religions. He showed his love by building a Catholic church and a mosque in Cote d'Ivoire. I also like his leadership qualities. He was a great leader. I encourage politicians and leaders of different organizations to learn from Ghoulem Berrah. He was ready to lay down his life for what was right. I also felt bad reading about racism and discrimination. It's sad that blacks are still being discriminated against and racially abused by whites.
I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no errors in this book. This shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. I recommend this book to those who love reading about politics and colonialism.
