Review of Love Yourself & Lose Weight: The Success Story of Self Love
Love Yourself & Lose Weight: The Success Story of Self Love by Katie Lips is a self-help book for people who wants to lose weight. Ever wonder what you can do if dieting doesn’t seem to work? Or how can you lose weight without using too much willpower? Well, self-love would be the answer to all your questions.
Follow the author’s success story as she shares her transformational method of losing weight. In this book, Katie Lips outlined the power and importance of self-love and how it can affect your lifestyle. You can even start your own success story by following the guided activities in this book.
What I liked most about this book is that it doesn’t follow traditional programs for weight loss. This book only highlighted how self-love could affect how you live your own life. Some people might think there’s nothing new about the idea of the correlation between self-love and lifestyle. However, I believe loving oneself is easily forgotten with all the stress life has been throwing. So, this book is a great reminder to love ourselves, like how we would love the most significant person in our life.
This book is primarily great. However, there were many instances wherein the author’s topics didn’t resonate with me, but I think that’s just cultural and age differences. I’m in my twenties, and the author is in her forties. Even so, I've always believed that great self-help books can make any interested reader feel heard, even though the examples are particular to a few people. Additionally, it’s so easy to lose track of the topic while reading this book. The ideas are repetitive, and there is too much information. This book can be half its original length and still achieve its purpose.
In conclusion, I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. It was exceptionally edited, and I learned many great things from this book. I believe that many people would also be interested in benefitting from the lessons this book can offer. Unfortunately, I did not give it a perfect rating because there was too much information overload, and the author repeatedly discussed the same ideas, examples, and subtopics. Nevertheless, I still think this is a good self-help book worth sharing.
I would recommend this to people interested in losing weight. This book offers an excellent method to lose weight by learning to love yourself. I would recommend this specifically to moms or women, though. I think they can resonate more with the author’s experiences. Loving oneself is a general idea that everyone should learn, but I genuinely believe that women can appreciate this particular book more.
