Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's memoir, A Dream For Peace, is enlightening. The author is an activist, ambassador, politician, peace champion, spiritual man, and former special advisor to Cote d'Ivoire's president. The book offers a personal perspective on the author's life journey. Algeria is where the author was born and raised. He witnessed his people being subjected to racism, discrimination, and tyranny at the hands of French colonialists. These vile acts instill in him a desire to free his homeland from colonialism. His book is meticulously braided into a finely balanced oratorial selection of stories that chronicle a life's journey, seemingly unfortunate at times, but with good results that serve as proof that his role here on earth was predetermined by a greater force.

One aspect of the book that I like is its distinct take on history and politics. The book examines Algeria's colonial heritage, the conflict between Israel and Palestine, and the cold war power struggle between nations. The book also provides readers with an understanding of Africa's colonial and post-colonial periods. The author also discusses his involvement in some major events. One such instance is his participation in peace discussions between Israel and Pakistan. Throughout the book, the author's duty as a peace ambassador is clearly established. The author's courage in standing up and fighting for what he believed in is admirable and something to emulate.

There is nothing to dislike about this book. The narrating language is straightforward, making it easy to understand the content. From the first page to the last, the author manages to keep the reader's attention. The author also incorporated images of characters, events, and locations in the book to help reinforce his stories. The images demonstrated to readers that the events discussed in the book are as genuine as you and me.

The book is exceptionally well written. It provides readers with a unique viewpoint on the author's fascinating life and countless accomplishments. The book manages to cover a wide range of topics without becoming tedious or monotonous. The book's narration was pleasant, and the author managed to effortlessly flow between events. The book was also exceptionally well-edited. The book deserves a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this book to political and historical readers. This book is ideal for readers who want to learn more about Africa's history and politics. People who enjoy reading memoirs will enjoy this as well, since it is quite comprehensive. The book is also fairly large, so those who like shorter books should avoid it.
