There is a saying in my culture that says that whoever wants something must labour for it. Whoever doesn’t labour must not eat. Mark’s father subscribed to this mantra, too. It was out of this that Mark, who is the main character in the book, developed his character. One time when they were on vacation, Mark saw something that he wanted. It was very expensive. His dad made him work for it. From this, he developed a two-tiered mantra. First plan, then execute.

Mark Victor Hansen, Relentless by Mitzi Perdue gave me so many life tips and lessons that were derived from the life of Mark, his friends, and his family. Some lessons that I’ve learned include diligence, honesty and hard work. On the aspect of hard work, this book holds that hard work goes hand in hand with working smart and being diligent. These three propel one towards success better than when one employs one aspect alone.

This book was very intriguing and educational at the same time. The information that I have acquired from this book is going to be instrumental in how I live henceforth. Even concerning how I chase my dreams. What I liked most in the book were the pictures that were after several pages. These made the stories that were in the book easy to understand and relate to. I also liked that the book had a lot of humour. This made the mood of the book very light and interesting. The dialogues in the book also broke the monotony of the book and made it less boring. Books like these tend to be very boring, but this was the opposite of boring.

In the book, I spotted a few grammatical errors and editorial mistakes that I have highlighted in my post-review questionnaire. This, however, did not affect my understanding or enjoyment of the book. This has, however, influenced the rating that I give this book. Despite that one thing, I found the book to be great. The language was easy to read and understand.

I give this book a 3 out of 4 rating because, as I explained earlier, I spotted a few grammatical and editorial errors. Were it not for that, I would have given it four stars. I would like to recommend this book to young adults because I believe the message in the book would best benefit them. Also, a large part of the book is about Mark's life as a young person. They would, therefore, relate best to it.
