A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a book that provides first-hand knowledge of the Algerian independence movement and some other African nations. This book provided a thorough description of Algeria’s fight for independence from its French colonial rulers. This book also covers family life, conflicts, death, and the bravery, patriotism, sacrifice, and heroism of certain Algerians and citizens of other African nations for freedom.

A Dream For Peace is based on the true story of Aziz, also known as Ghoulem. Aziz, an Algerian-born student, has been an anti-colonialist since elementary school. He was one of the few Algerians to receive a French medical scholarship. While still a student, he joined other men from his country and other African students in France to form an organization dedicated to the liberation of Algeria, Morocco, and other African countries. When the French authorities discovered Aziz’s role in the anti-colonial movement, he attempted to flee to Spain with the assistance of a young woman named Antoinette. Unfortunately, they were apprehended and imprisoned by Spanish authorities. What became of Aziz and his quest for freedom? To learn more, read the book.

I appreciate how the author was able to recount every facet of his participation in the independence movement while remaining honest about its drawbacks. This book instills virtues like boldness, bravery, commitment to a goal, sacrifice, and patriotism. It also focuses on a variety of topics, such as the medical industry, raising a happy family, academic advancements, and a love of peace. Leadership abilities, various medical techniques, organization, and execution are among the noteworthy lessons to be learned from this book.

This book’s most intriguing component is Ghoulem’s adaptability. Despite being a patriot whose priority was the liberation of Algeria and all of Africa, he was also a strong student who excelled above his peers in whatever he did. The book is divided into seventeen chapters, each of which has an intriguing title. Each chapter’s outline was written effectively, and pictures were used to illustrate the points being made.

Apart from the Arabic used in some pictorial depictions, which is insufficient to subtract a star, while reading the book, I was unable to locate any typos or grammatical problems, indicating that the book was properly edited and is generally straightforward to read. Accordingly, I will rate this book four out of four stars. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to cultivate the qualities of bravery, courage, patriotism, and adaptability. I'II also recommend it to anyone planning to work in the fields of medicine, science, or law.

Dr. Berrah is an excellent example of what everyone should strive to be. He really stood up for what he believed whether it was against the government or in a college assembly.

I think Aziz was not the name of Ghoulem Berrah. It was what his mother used to call him. It is translated as the Dear and Loved One in Arabic.
