America Dies-When Based Upon Lies: Fake America Again by Moswee M. Peach is a book with the purpose to influence voters against voting for President Trump in the 2020 election. Another goal of the book is to bring awareness to the unconstitutional conduct of President Trump. The book goes into detail about key factors of Trump’s Presidency including Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election along with the collusion, the July 25, 2019, phone call to Ukraine’s president Zelensky which led to Trump’s first impeachment trial, the separate visits with Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, and the Republican Party’s unwillingness to hold Trump accountable for actions. The book also mentions the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and Trump’s reaction to its spread in the country.

There were several negative issues involving this book. First, there are plenty of errors throughout the book such as run-on sentences and editing resulting with the blending of the Table of Contents and Introduction. Also, Moswee M Peach refers to President Trump as the Resident throughout the book and I was unsure if it was a typo or some hidden meaning behind it since no explanation is given. Then there is the tone of the book. The author is very emotional about his stance and attacks Trump repeatedly throughout the book. Such examples are “Bozo” on page 23, “super-narcissist” from page 29, and “Dumb” on page 52. Whether or not I agree with Moswee M. Peach on his opinion, I feel as if the author should have curbed the name calling slightly in order to find a wider audience.

However, there were good aspects of this book as well. As Moswee M. Peach explains about the connections between members of the Russian government and Trump’s political party, he references articles from The Guardian newspaper which he uses to enforce his statements. This helps to back up his claims about President Trump and represents the book as factual along with the interlaced emotions.

In the end, I gave America Dies-When Based Upon Lies: Fake America Again 2 out of 4 stars. The lack of stars expresses my frustration at having to read through so many mistypes and sentences running together. I do find the material to be important, however, since most of these facts will eventually be in history books. For these reasons, I felt like the good balanced out the bad.

Moswee M. Peach states in the book that its purpose is to persuade voters to not vote for Trump, but I think anyone who is interested in knowing about the first three years of Trump’s Presidency should think about reading this book. It is short and if someone went through and re-edited the book, it could be worth reading.
