Review of Surviving the Business of Healthcare
Each one of us has their ambitions, as regards to their career in life. One may be an employee or self-employed. Starting up a business and making it thrive are two different things. The things that one can not miss out on are: challenges, setbacks, and hindrances too. To be in good health is a very important aspect to each one of us. We need to know how to maintain it, the persons who may help us in doing so, the services to prompt that, and the places where that can be done. This book talks about the above plus experiences, moral lessons, and advice as well.
Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C has ever been a teacher, musician, but her calling was in being a healthcare provider. She provides her services to cancer patients as a cradle-to-grave practitioner. Her calling stems from the fact that her father, grandfather and great-grandfather were practice physicians as well. She says that she loves her job and always puts it's necessities ahead of everything else in her life.
Surviving the Business of Healthcare is the title of the book that Barbara Regis authored, and it is non-fiction in nature. She did so to let us know about the necessities we need, if we want to consider our health with no worries. For example, health insurance policies, medical facilities, and the services that we should use. The first chapters are about the complete round of everything in this book, and then, the proceeding ones are a breakdown of what is contained in the first ones. This book has many chapters, therefore, one is bound to think that it is long, but no, the information in each chapter is not that much, and written in a simplified way. I also noticed a number of technical terms, for example, Primary Care Provider short for PCP and so on. I did not come across any mistakes, hence, this book was professionally edited. The language is friendly and formal too, despite the technical terms that were employed by the author. Hence I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I loved this story because I found it very interesting. This is due to the fact that I learnt about what I did not know, but most importantly, not ignore anything about my health. The comments, that are made, may be a wake-up call to a condition that could be very serious. Being informed, just like the author, about the signs and symptoms of a number of diseases helps us to know what we may be dealing with. I thank persons such as the author's husband for his concern about her, friends, family, and workmates. The author also says that she wrote this story for her mom. The unfortunate bit about this book is that the author also ended up battling cancer, while putting together the last chapters of this book, but fortunately, it was discovered early enough and gotten rid of. Hopefully, she recovers completely and continues with what life has in store for her.
This book is not only a tutorial but also has moral lessons impacted in it for us the readers. The language is also friendly, and does not discriminate against any age, as long as the reader is able to understand what he or she is reading. Hence, I recommend it to anyone interested in discovering how a health system functions, especially if you are planning to start up one, for example a hospital, the importance of friends and connections, health insurance, or covers, health services needed depending on one's health needs plus healthcare tips.
