The MECE Muse: 100+ selected practices, unwritten rules, and habits of great consultants by Christie Lindor is a non-fiction book that serves as a manual for both amateurs and professionals in the consulting field. The author offers many examples of remarkable consultants who offer guidance on the approaches, dos, and don'ts of excelling as a consultant. There are three parts to this book. The first section deals with the perspective of excellent consultants and the elements that make them successful. The author explains the professionalism and tools needed to routinely provide clients with successful results are described in the second portion. The final portion addresses a career in consulting and the intrinsically transient character of this line of work, which mandates that consultants make investments in themselves and also get ready for emerging technology and prospective competitors.

This book is a step-by-step manual for making a career in the consultation industry. The author writes about her own experiences and addresses the difficulties that come along with this job and explains how people thrive in this occupation. The mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive rule abbreviated as MECE, is a strategy used in consulting to visualise and analyse business issues in an attempt to solve them. This book raises its readers' professional standards and attempts to motivate consultants to go beyond their limits.

This book is better than other publications on the subject because of its pragmatic approach, high-quality concepts, and material. Overall, this book is written in a very professional manner, and I didn't find any grammatical errors in it.

There aren't many flaws in this book because it is so beautifully written. The length of certain interviews was the only negative for me because reading all of them does become tiresome at some point. However, the time it takes to read them and take in all the wisdom offered by the professionals could be worthwhile for some, but not for everyone.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4. It was easy to read and it can be seen that this book is the result of much investigation and knowledge. The author chose her interview subjects with great care, choosing people who have exceptional business sense. They helped in providing substantial and priceless content for this book.

For those just starting in consulting, this book provides a wealth of information. For college students, this book might be a fantastic read as well. Anyone interested in business or consulting must give this a read.
