28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humorous Memoir by Poppy Mortimer is a splendidly entertaining book.
The book highlights the spectacular stories of 28 dates that Poppy Mortimer went on. Each one was humorous and bizarre. Anyone who wants a good laugh could mostly pick up this book and enjoy it. This book for the most part contains stories, from the beginning to the end of Poppy's dates, which for all intents and purposes is quite significant and humorous.
The author explains and tells the chapters in a way that is pretty intriguing and enjoyable. I particularly was hooked from the first page, diving deep into the stories. I was invested in the stories that were being told and the words on the page. The author's style of writing and way of describing the characters in the stories was amazing. With a lot of details in the story, the author was able to manage events in a good and subtle way. She basically was descriptive and characteristic, definitely certain sentences helped with the imaginative part in a major way. This book particularly was written in a way that mostly was gripping and entertaining. Unimaginable storylines mostly were fun to read, which literally is fairly significant. If a book is boring, I don't feel like continuing to read it. But, that was not the case in this particular book. I have to mention the fact that all of the stories that were written were unique.
Something I didn't like in this book was, that even though the stories were unique, some of them seemed to bore me. I pushed through the stories that didn't interest me as much as the others.
I like how the author's dates were pretty personal experiences incorporated into stories, which kind of is quite significant and exciting. The other thing I enjoyed in this book was the imaginative telling and description of the chapters.
I saw this book as professionally edited and found no errors.
I would mostly rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The particular cause for this rating is, even though this book literally was an amusing read, it couldn't kind of be everyone's cup of tea. Anyone who is into drama or particular nonfiction romance could pick up this book. Anyone who also wants a good laugh can enjoy this book.
