The author describes her fight with a skin cancer known as melanoma which she was diagnosed with in the later chapters of writing this book. Despite being diagnosed with cancer, she still had a passion for medicine and was happy when the patients got the services they deserved. In this book, she shares her knowledge in the business of healthcare to help others in the business. Some of the topics she shares in the healthcare business are insurance, legal, and meds. The author also describes the importance of being cautious with health because it makes the difference between life and death. People should explain their health issues to doctors while asking many questions as it helps doctors makes the right decision concerning their health issue. Do you want to know tips for surviving the business of healthcare? Read this book.
I liked several things about this book which made me eager to finish reading the book. The author describes how to fight cancer using a real example of herself. Although it was painful, it made the reader develop an interest in wanting to know what happened. She describes the whole fight up to when she finally won the battle. Also, the author describes the difference between the medical systems of the past and the current. It shows the evolution in the healthcare business, and she makes it more interesting by using her father as an example since he was a doctor to demonstrate the difference. Finally, I like how she talks about the problems people face in healthcare, such as some can afford proper medical services since they are costly. It helps create awareness of the people in healthcare responsible for the service to reduce the prices so that many people can afford it.
I did not find anything to dislike in the book. The way the author expressed her views and tips concerning surviving the business of healthcare was impressive. The flow was great, and the language was simple; hence, nothing to dislike.
I rate Surviving the "Business" of Healthcare, written by Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C, four out of four stars. The book was explicitly edited, and I did not find any errors. I found many positive aspects, and I did not find any negative aspects in the book. With all those aspects of the book, I find it deserves that kind of a rating, and deducting a star would be unfair.
I recommend this book to anyone interested in their health and people in the business of healthcare. It would be helpful to those people because it discusses what is known about someone's health and the tips for surviving the healthcare business.
