Are you a first-time dad? Are you anxious about what to expect? Well, worry no more because The First Time Father by Thomas Alfie has your back.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part contains the pregnancy period, the second part talks about the father-child bonding and the last part contains the financial planning, management of stress, and child upbringing. He detailed all the parts with what to expect.

The plot of the book is fast-paced with easy-to-understand language and phrases. It has pictures that relate to the topic being discussed. They say it, pictures speak a lot more than words. They are eye-catching. Some contain sayings and motivational quotes as passed by the world's most influential people. He has written the content based on research from several sources, like Mayo Clinic. He has also picked content from the author's experience and those of other dads.

The author did a great job in utilizing easy-to-follow steps, like the ones on taking care of an infant. He has supported his recommendations using thoughts from the world's most influential and powerful people, like Pastor Joel Osteen. Considering the research and the experiences, his work is dependable and believable.

I loved the topic of stress management. The story by Stephen Covey on a man who was cutting wood with a dull saw. The dull tool refers to the mental, emotional, and spiritual state. He advises that we should sharpen our tools at all times. This was so motivational and very important in child upbringing. I also loved the motivational quotes at the start of every topic that went hand in hand with the topic in discussion. There is no part that I disliked in the book. I also did not come across any errors, if any.

The book served its purpose. It has a full package for fathers-to-be and those aspiring to be dads. After going through the book and gaining new insight into parenting, I feel indented to give this book a deserved rating of 4 out of 4 stars . Very captivating, motivational, eye-opening, and educative. I would recommend this book to aspiring fathers, mothers, and those who are new parents and worried about raising their children in the best way. Good luck as you pick this book for the next read!
