Review of A Dream For Peace
What is peace? Is it created, achieved or perceived? Would you risk everything for peace? The author who is also the main character of the book was born in Algeria, which was by then colonized by the France government. From a young age. He dreamt of liberating his country Algeria and other African countries as a well. He grew to become an advocate for peace despite his many other achievements, such as excelling in medicine field. Ironically, his love life reflected otherwise which to some extent was a drawback to his emotional life. What happened to his love life? Will he find a way to resolve it, or will he find a distraction like many would opt to? Will he fulfill his dream of liberating his country? If he did, who are some of the people who led to his success? If he did not, what caused his failure? To answer this questions and many more, consider reading this book A Dream For Peace.
What I loved about the book is the presence of pictures, which acted as evidence that it was truly not a fictional book. Unlike fictional book with imaginary character, the characters were real who are recorded in historical books like a former Tanzanian President Mwalimu Julius Nyerere. This familiarity with characters motivated me to read more to add to my list of their leadership qualities that liberated their countries and encouraged unity. The book cover had a hint of mystery to it, which was one of the basic factor that led me to choose the book. I also loved the quotes used at the end of each factors as I found some of them informative and educative while others portrayed the author's actual feelings. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah love and respect for his family is admirable. The ability to live peacefully with other religions in peace and without perceiving them differently is worth emulating.
The author Ghoulem Berrah is also a good narrator, as he gives details of his life precisely without making it boring or giving inadequate details. There was nothing I hated about the book from the book cover, writing style to the content.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, I think it deserves nothing less than a perfect score. The book A Dream For Peace was written in a way that the content perfectly suits the title. The book was professionally edited, with a few notable errors.
I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy historic political books. The book has religious tolerance making it suitable for all. The book has many characters like any ideal historical book.
