Review of A Dream For Peace
A Dream for Peace is an exceptionally written memoir by his excellency Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. Dr. Berrah is an Algerian freedom fighter. In the text, he is depicted as a bright person, loved by many, and highly esteemed by his peers. The book is about his life and role as a leader in the fight against oppression, not only against his people, but every other African nation facing the same predicament. The story is about a call for change, it addresses inequality, and the pros and cons of colonization. It talks about the fight for peace and independence of countries under the rule of the French. Dr. Berrah raves about the unity and commitment of many different nations and religions towards the vision of global liberation and unanimity.
At the beginning of the book, the author is introduced by those acquainted with him; they talk about their shared experiences and his character. The author goes on to talk about his homeland, family, the kind of relationships and interactions that took place in his community. There is mention of his education, life in France, and political endeavors, which were quite exuberant. He talks about the history and traditions of his people. He talks about the war between his people brought about by greedy and self-seeking leaders, the decline of the Algerian economy, and a high unemployment rate in the country, as a result of that.
The author has used strong language and a resonating writing style to give emphasis to his story. He is very descriptive and clear, especially about the characters and setting of the events, which gives the reader a vivid picture of what he is talking about. His attention to detail is also notable and highly appreciated. The story is heartfelt and interesting, it engages the reader. This book is not just another anecdote, it is one of those remarkable and memorable books that can shape someone’s life; guide them, and help in the fortification of their morals.
The book is well written. The narrative is well organized. The plot is incredibly executed; it is as if the events in the book happened not long ago. The characters used in the book are glorious. It is perfectly edited. There is nothing that I dislike about it. I rate the book 4 out of 4.
This book could serve as a source of motivation and courage for people who are living in countries under oppression, affected by violence, or higher rates of unemployment. All in all, I recommend it mostly to people interested in historical politics and philosophy.
