Many people think that they need specific body postures and enabling environments to be able to meditate. The Warrior's Meditation by Richard L Haight is a book that aims to debunk many assumptions and provide readers with important knowledge about meditation.

When Richard joined Shizen's dojo and saw him carrying out his meditation in a few seconds, it was surprising to him. Shizen explained that spending hours on meditation as a Samurai wasn't a ticket to getting the desired outcome of meditation, and it slowed a Samurai down in carrying out his daily duties. If you want to find out how you can carry out your daily activities and still maintain a healthy mind through meditation, then this book is for you.

I can't overemphasize how educative I found this book to be. While reading this book, I learned about Kami's martial system, which is the Shinkage-ryu. Shinkage-ryu was meant to preserve the life of the enemy, as Kamiizumi Sensei felt it was a shame to kill an enemy unnecessarily. Shinkage-ryu remained the official art of the Shogun for the next 400 years. I found this line of thought to be very noble. A lot of people do not care about how they take out their enemies. I also read about the culture and history of meditation.

For people who know almost nothing about meditation, this should be a great read. The author explained the state of the mind during depression and anxiety, and he compared it to a meditating mind. The clarity of his writing style made the points very easy to understand, and I found myself carrying out the meditation exercises included in this book. As I read the author's viewpoint, which is also backed up by extensive research, I started regretting why I hadn't taken meditation seriously before this moment. There are a lot of health benefits of meditating, and it was insightful to read about them. In addition, I liked how the author talked about this form of meditation without attaching it to religious principles. There are universal principles of meditation that apply to anyone irrespective of religion. People need to benefit from this without feeling excluded.

I couldn't find any negative aspects to this book. It's an insightful and helpful read; this book is perfectly edited. I did not encounter errors. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Anyone looking for a way to integrate meditation into their daily lives should benefit from reading this book. There are few notes about religions, but the author ensured that this book could be read by readers of different religions by focusing more on meditation.

I always thought that meditating is connected to a religion. I think it is clear that it not the case, but I did have that thought before. I will check this one out. Thank you for a great review!

This sounds like a great way to multi-task. I had no idea your could meditate while doing other things, but it seems like a good idea.
