Review of Adam There You Are!
No matter where you are in life, you will face challenges. At some point, we all run into them. Most, if not all, outstanding accomplishments result from seizing once-in-a-lifetime circumstances presented by seemingly insurmountable odds. This book, however, by Lynda Worrell, reveals that our difficulties are merely difficulties and that our faith is not stronger than our struggles. A strong belief in the supreme deity allowed her to overcome all of her troubles. Adam There You Are!, tells the story of a mother's spiritual and emotional journey as she and her husband grieve the loss of their son. In this book, Lynda also courageously demonstrates that she believes that God communicates to her. Hence, if you're feeling lost in your spirituality, this book can help, as it’s full of practical advice for those baffled by their faith.
Whatever the case may be, it's a given that obstacles will inevitably arise. You can either succumb to the hardships and tribulations that confront you, or you can choose to fight back by developing the right qualities that will put those obstacles to scorn. Because in the end, how you respond to obstacles is all that matters, and it impresses me how Lynda and John were able to face everything by leaning solely on God and maintaining a steady faith in him. The best part of the book for me is John's story of how he entered God's living room and transformed his life completely. Because this passage profoundly stirred me, I burst into tears. Chapter 25, "Some Answers," is the best chapter for me. This chapter reaffirmed the reality of God's existence and similitude to us. Previously unanswered queries like "Where is God in all of this?" were answered gently by Lynda in this chapter, and I appreciate it. Before, a lot of the time, when things go wrong, I'll blame God entirely instead of acknowledging that he's always there and has never abandoned us. In fact, he may have a higher purpose when things happen that we cannot control. As a non-religious person who freely admits that I am a sinner, I cry and repent of my sins whenever I am allowed to interact with God.
If there is one aspect of this book that irritates me, it is the format. The large typography turned me off in the epilogue section of the book. This book also consists of several chapters that are both justified and unjustified. Although the book was edited by a professional because I only detected a few mistakes, the formatting is something I'd like to point out.
In my opinion, we can all learn something from this book's lessons, especially about Lynda as a mom’s battle. I'm even more impressed by this book because the author clearly understands how to engage her audience on an emotional level. Hence, I give it 4 out of 4 stars regardless of the book's religious concept. What I disliked about this book did not suffice to omit a star.
This book will appeal to a broad spectrum of people who enjoy reading the Bible because it briefly outlines some of it. Moreover, if you're looking for a book that explains how faith works and emphasizes the significance of devotion, this one is for you.
