Review of The MECE Muse
A complete guide to the path of a successful consulting career. It has all the pro tips, habits, and unwritten rules to help you become a great consultant. From the very basics of consultancy to gaining expertise in it; The MECE Muse is a perfect guidebook for all beginners and aspiring consultants. The author Christie Lindor who is in the field of consultancy for decades has provided guidance through her personal experiences at work. The book also contains numerous interviews of successful consultants who provided the learnings they gained in their journey and their guidance and suggestions for young aspirants.
The best part was that the book seems so flawless, nothing notable was missing from the book. It has real-life experiences, tips, habits, and all the learnings that are legitly helpful to any aspirant or practicing consultant. You can know a lot about the experiences consultants have through the interviews provided in the book.
Another feature of this book is that it just doesn't show the positive aspects but also the challenges faced by consultants which can help the young aspirants to choose wisely.
Certainly, It is a great book for only those who have a true interest in consultancy and the practicing consultants but anyone could opt for it to dive deep to know in-depth about the field.
The book contains a lot of interviews with mainly similar questions asked to different consultants; which may appear as a skippable part for a few but I would highly recommend reading all of them as it is just worth it and every different individual has a different answer, experience, and story to share which can provide you with great learnings.
Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 as it is an epitome of perfection as a consultancy guidebook and provides on-point advice and successfully fulfills its purpose. It does not show even minor unprofessionalism or useless content. All the information is precisely represented.
I highly recommend this short guidebook to every aspirant of consultancy and working consultants. It's a must-read to gain some good habits, tips, and learnings from the most successful consultants and will surely result into a notable improvement in your work.
Undoubtedly, an individual not interested in consultancy will not find it that helpful. Individually, I am an aspirant consultant; thus this book truly provided value to me in understanding different aspects of consultancy.
