Review of Surviving the Business of Healthcare
Surviving the Business of Healthcare: Knowledge is Power is an autobiographical book in which the author Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C tells us about her own experiences related to healthcare. She tells us about herself, and why she chose the medical field because her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were physicians. Then she talks about her 20 years of experience. Also, she talks about her diagnosis. Describes the healing process and shares with the reader all the experiences she has gained and tested herself. Imagine a situation where you go to a pharmacy, buy medicine, pay a certain amount of money and go back. Have you ever thought that you pay more for this medicine than it is worth? Wondering how to find out more about healthcare? Then read this book!
Let’s start with what I really liked about this book. At first, the table of contents of the book and the division of the chapters were very good. The titles were relevant to the content and if you have to find any part of the book, you can easily go back. I would like to point out that at first, this book scared me a bit, I thought it would be an excess of medical terms and I could not understand many things, however, my expectations did not come true. The book was written in the most understandable language and medical terms do not confuse the reader. I liked that the author spoke from her own experience and this book has an enlightening character.
To be honest, there was nothing in this book that I did not like. Except that I got bored while reading. This is not because there was an error in the book, but because autobiographical and medical books are not my style. However, because the genre is not suitable for me, I cannot say bad things about the book, because the story was informative and I even mentioned a few tips that I will definitely use.
I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I did not find any grammatical errors in it. The book is informative, written in a suitable language, and content-oriented. The information presented in it is written by a correct and experienced person, which raises the degree of credibility.
I would recommend this book to people who love autobiographical, cognitive, and medical books. I also recommend it to anyone who is battling any disease and does not know how to find a way in healthcare, because this book is a guide to healthcare, the advice is given by an experienced person!
