Review of Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks
Are you tired of reading health articles with conflicting conclusions? Are you confused about whether to believe in various miracle products touted on your tv screens? Are you simply tired of the half-baked medical advice from people with no sufficient professional expertise? Then Look no further. This book, Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks: A Physician’s Advice by Morton E. Tavel, will provide answers to all your questions.
Through this book, the author (a retired physician specializing in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases) shares his professional opinion about the various misinformation circulating among the general public. He has busted some of the popular myths regarding vaccines, GMO labels, chiropractic, Wi-Fi, raw milk, and so on. He has also provided some much-needed practical advice on leading a healthy lifestyle in this fast-paced consumer society. If you are tired of scouring the internet to find health advice from someone who is not looking for some direct or indirect monetary gain, then give this book a try.
I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Here are the reasons you should definitely read this book: First, the author has the professional qualification to back up his advice. Second, the book clears doubts regarding the most common doubts/myths the readers might have. Third, the book covers a wide range of topics, from weight loss to lie detection tests; the reader will never get bored. Fourth and the most important reason is the language; it is simple and can be understood by anyone with or without sufficient medical background.
My favorite aspect of this book was that I learned a lot of new information. For example, I got to know the link between exercise and cancer. Moreover, there were no negatives that were worth mentioning. Even the few minor typos I found weren’t enough to reduce a whole star. So, I had to give this book a full-star rating.
This book can be read by readers of all ages. Even young adults and teenagers will gain some knowledge from this book. Readers who like educational books, self-help books, and/or personal development books are apt for this. Fiction readers might find this book a little boring, but considering the information one can gain from this, I will say it is worth the sacrifice. If you want sound practical advice that can be added to your life with no extreme effort or money loss, then give this book a try. Happy reading.
