Normally, I rarely gravitate towards non-fictional books, but I was allured by the book’s title, Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks written by Morton E. Tavel. It made me especially curious to go through the book’s contents, and I’m glad I did. The focus of this book is to dissect and demystify a number of controversial topics concerning health, nutrition, and fitness that have been misconstrued by the general public and even medical practitioners. The author wrote this book to educate any individual on lifestyle diseases, among other concerns, so that no one falls into the trap of throwing their money away on what they consider to be the "best medical aid" when, in fact, it is not.

This book was a pleasure to read because the author introduced and explained numerous medical terms and concepts in a way that any person could grasp. I found myself becoming more aware of what I consumed, and I became quite knowledgeable about diseases like hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and the common cold, among others. I also learned a lot about diet supplements, weight loss, allergies, sleep, exercise, energy drinks, and a variety of other topics. This book has undoubtedly inspired me to live a more active and healthy lifestyle.

The book was structured into three categories: tips, myths, and tricks, which made it much easier for me to navigate through. In this book, there was a topic that especially caught my attention, and it was about the accuracy of polygraph tests. The findings astounded me completely.

I could not find any negative aspects in the book, and even though the book had a few grammatical errors, I’d still rate it 4 out of 4 stars. The reason for my rating is that the book was well-written and written in an easy-to-understand format. The book was also professionally edited. I was also drawn in by the author's writing style, which made me want to keep turning pages. In conclusion, I enjoyed the book through and through, and it was a shame when I realized that it had come to an end.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the popular misconceptions in the medical field, as well as doctors, physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals. This would also be a great and interesting read for patients and anyone else wishing to transform their lifestyles into healthier ones. This book is packed with so much insight on such matters.
