Review of Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks
Having a good health status is every individual's goal. In the journey to attain this goal, many people research for advice and solutions from different sources, and in turn, they may get incorrect or correct information. But how do they differentiate this information? Morton E. Tavel, MD, has got everything covered in his book, Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks, which touches on everything people need to know about health.
In his book, Dr. Tavel gives well-detailed explanations of different health conditions, their causes, and proven solutions. In addition, he touches on what are considered to be myths about health. The issues of weight loss, types, quality, and quantity of food one should eat, and when and how one is supposed to take medicinal drugs are all discussed in the book.
First of all, the styling of subheadings and length of paragraphs is so appealing to the eyes. The sections are short but well-detailed to deliver the message strictly as intended. Secondly, I appreciate how the author gives well-researched information in his book. Nowhere in the entire book did I see any allegations without proof.
The third positive thing about this book is how Dr. Tavel uses humor to deliver his message. For example, he explains the positive health effects of eating breakfast and concludes, "Eat breakfast every morning, or I'll tell mother on you." He also talks about diarrhea as a side effect of some drugs, and he adds, "You might not want your pants." These are just a few of the many instances that got my ribs burning, and I think it is the best way for an author to connect with his audience.
Finally, reading this book will save you a lot of money you could have spent in a hospital. Everything about health is tackled here, including food, drugs, drinks, and exercise. Furthermore, the author has shed light on myths about certain diseases and cures and has elaborated on facts. I would say this book is just a manual for healthy living.
The book was professionally edited. I only found less than three typo errors, which had no substantial impact on my general view of this book. Therefore, I will give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars because of the many positive aspects discussed above.
Health being a general issue of concern for both the young and the old, I recommend this book to readers of all ages because they will learn a lot that may help increase their life spans and prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
