“How is it imaginable for someone to have accomplished so many divergent things?” the reader realizes as he reads A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. Ghoulem was taken in Algeria and studied medicine in France. He was remarkably prosperous in America. However, he was born in an era when the Middle East was undergoing troubles, and Ghoulem chose to uphold and assist his motherland, Algeria; therefore, he got into politics. Ghoulem remained in politics to assist Algeria, but he ended himself as the ambassador to an African Christian president, even though he was a Muslim.

The autobiography, A Dream For Peace, was planned to represent this mediator’s history. Gaining more about the efforts of a religious man who has regularly sought peace and resilience was overwhelming to me. The novel is remarkable, except that it portrays incidents behind closed doors. That was my favourite aspect of it. This book has a lot of vital views to it. The author used various techniques to make life more readable. One is the inclusion of photographs and a detailed account of events. It aided in creating a visual effect while reading, and it made the reader feel more connected with the story. In addition, at the bottom of each page, any ambiguous statements or words were clarified. As well as additional clarity. I liked how the author’s background was mirrored in the novel. His colonial and religious background was detailed in the book, which contained portions in French and Arabic.

The book was nothing particularly unpleasant, but it touched on some complex topics. For instance, the struggles in the Middle East, particularly between Palestine and Israel, are a conscious subject, and some readers may object to Ghoulem’s views or explanation to the problem, provoking some. It would further have been helpful for Ghoulem to illustrate how he endured his troubles and found peace in his life so that others might learn from him. The book would have been more intriguing if his wife had included some of her thoughts on matters like dealing with their in-laws and political difficulties.

Comprehensively, the book is addicting and exposes a lot of behind-the-scenes information. Dr Ghoulem Berrah’s life was captivating, and learning more about his accomplishments was a wonderful experience. I rate it four out of four stars. I recommended this book to anyone interested in knowing more about Africa’s history after decolonization. The book is professionally edited and has detected no grammatical lapse.
